Senior Captain John Walters ("J-Dub") has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for February 11-18.
In Tech's win over Ohio Valley, J-Dub scored a reversal and converted a leg ride and half nelson to score the fall, the pin, was a career high eighth of the season improving his record to 21-4.
At 157 lbs., Walters continued to add to his best season as a Golden Bear, making his third final, and winning his second tournament championship of the season at Tech's debut appearance in the USCAA Wrestling National Invitational held in State College, Pa.
Walters hails from Camden, De. and studies Athletic Coaching Education at WVU Tech.
