WVU Tech Athletics has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Sept. 7-13, recognizing freshman Shiloh Goodwin of soccer and junior Evan McElwayne of cross country for standout performances during the week.

McElwayne led WVU Tech at the Bethany Invitational, finishing second overall in the 8K with a time of 29:07.3.

The junior was the Golden Bears' top finisher in the 66-runner field and helped WVU Tech place fourth among nine scoring teams with 97 points. His runner-up finish marked the best individual result by a Golden Bear through the first two meets of the season.

McElwayne is a junior majoring in chemical engineering.
