Freshman Matheus Montarroyos has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for February 19-26.
Montarroyos racked up many points for the Golden Bears in the Applachian Swimming Conference Championships in Christiansburg, Va via solo races and relays.
The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native placed in the following:
First place - 500 Freestyle - 4:38.47
Second place - 200 Freestyle - 1:43.15
Sixth place - 800 Freestyle Relay - 7:14.84 (with Gabriel Grauwde, Jack Cavanagh, and Kyle Polczynski)
Seventh place - 100 Freestyle - 48.34
Eighth place - 400 Freestyle Relay - 3:19.21 (with Grauwde, Cavanagh, and Anderson Nagasaki)
Eight place - 200 Medley Relay - 1:40.69 (with Polczynski, Nagaski, and Cavangh)
