Freshman Will Patteson has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for April 16-23.

Patteson threw arguably his best game in his collegiate career in the Golden Bears' 2-0 win over Ohio Christian University in Huntington, W. Va. by tossing a two-hit shutout in five innings of work.

The Narrows, W. Va. native, who walked just three batters in addition to striking out a career-high seven Ohio Christian batters is now 1-0 this season.

The freshman studies mechanical engineering at WVU Tech.
