Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for September 7-12, 2021 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Senior Nathan Morton and junior Carmen Camino Falcon of cross country highlight that week's honors.

Morton, from Christiansburg, Virginia, placed second overall at the Golden Bear Classic. WVU Tech won first place as a team led by Morton running the 4,000-meter race in 14 minutes, 28 seconds. There were 24 runners in the race all together.

Camino Falcon, who hails from Spain, dominated the field in the same event for the women, crossing first with a time of 17 minutes, 55 seconds. The junior finished about one minute, 30 seconds ahead of the next runner.
