The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Dec. 8–14, 2025. This week's honors go to sophomore distance runner Evan McElwayne and junior guard Cadence Stewart of women's basketball following standout performances on the national and conference stages.

Cadence Stewart (— Junior Guard)

Stewart led WVU Tech during a two-game road week, totaling 25 points while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range. She added 14 rebounds and helped power the Golden Bears' 92–67 win at Carolina (N.C.).

Her scoring consistency and steady presence on both ends anchored the team during the week.
