Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 25-31, 2021 were announced Tuesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Junior Andrea Segovia (women's swimming) and sophomore Guillermo Usechi (men's swimming) highlight that week's honors.

Segovia, who hails from Valls, Spain, touched first amongst NCAA DII competitors in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:16.15. Segovia also finished second in the 200 Free (2:11.42) and ended fourth in the 50 Free (27.88) against swimmers from Salem University and West Virginia Wesleyan College.

A native of Barcelona, Spain, Usechi had a standout meet garnering two first place finishes (500 Free, 200 Free) and a second place finish (50 Free) individually as Tech defeated NCAA DII schools Salem and West Virginia Wesleyan. Usechi also helped lead the 400 Free Relay squad to touch first.
