Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for January 3-16, 2022 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Freshman Jeffrey Bowles (wrestling) and senior Brittney Justice (women's basketball) highlight this week's honors.

Bowles, who hails from Lester, West Virginia, went 2-2 during the Appalachian Athletic Conference Duals to raise his record to 7-13 at 285 lbs. overall this season. He had an 8-3 decision over Logan Sage (St. Andrews) and also grappled to a 3-0 decision against Montreat's James Connaghan.

A native of Danese, West Virginia, Justice had a standout five games, pouring in a total of 121 points to go with 35 rebounds and 15 assists. The senior also hit a huge milestone, capturing her 2,000th career point as a Golden Bear.
