Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 10-16, 2022 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Sophomore Angelica Taylor (women's soccer) and freshman Samantha Adele Pepevnik (women's swimming) highlight the week's honors.

Taylor, who hails from Beaver,  West Virginia, helped lead the Golden Bears to their first victory of the 2022 season in the 2-0 showing over University of Rio Grande. The sophomore posted Tech's first score and finished with two shots on goal in the match-up.

A native of Norway, Pepevnik added a 100 Backstroke NAIA Provisional to her list of times that count with a performance of 1:01.48 during the West Virginia State Games. She was tenth in the 100 Back and garnered a sixth place showing in the 200 Back with a time of 2:10.81.
