Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Oct. 9-15, 2023 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Juniors Zaccerie Penka (men's cross country) and Brooke Presley (volleyball) highlight the week's honors.

The Golden Bears were led by Penka (Blackwell, Okla.) during the Concord Alumni Invite October 13 in Pipestem, W.Va. The junior finished 13th out of 46 runners with a 30:10 in the 8k.

Presley (Shady Spring, W.Va.) led the back row defense over two matches against Midway University and Indiana University Southeast. The junior picked up 35 digs over seven sets at 5.00 digs per set.
