Athlete Awards Athletes of the Week Choose Awards Type All Athlete Awards Athletes of the Week Nevaeh Wooding Award Athletes of the Week Week Of 9/1/2024 Sport Volleyball Bio View Full Bio Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for August 26 - September 1, 2024 were announced Tuesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Junior Nevaeh Wooding (volleyball) and sophomore Fabrizio Balarezo (men's soccer) highlight the week's honors. Wooding, from White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., hit 2.24 kills per set towards a total of 38 kills over five matches. The junior also put down a team-high total of 16 blocks including five block solos. Balarezo, a native of Lima, Peru, recorded his first collegiate goal as Tech defeated Washington Adventist. The sophomore also posted his first collegiate assist for the Gold and Blue.
