Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 14-20, 2024 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Senior Angie Arenas Florez (women's swimming) and sophomore Vasco Berardo (men's soccer) highlight the week's honors.

Arena Florez, who hails from Floridablanca, Santander, Colombia, garnered three first place individual finishes in a dual meet at University of Pikeville. She touched first in the 50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Back.

A native of Lisboa, Portugal, Berardo recorded four points in Tech's win last week. The sophomore scored off a penalty kick in minute 58 and then found the back of the net unassisted in minute 66.
