Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 21-27, 2024 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Freshmen Evan McElwayne (men's cross country) and Avery (Drake_9017) Rosencrance (esports) highlight the week's honors.

McElwayne, who hails from Clarksburg, W.Va., led the Golden Bears at the Wild Bill Invite October 25. The freshman ran a 27:05 in the 8k, his collegiate PR, crossing 20th out of 56 runners.

A native of Ansted, W.Va., Rosencrance (Drake_9017) helped lead Tech to two W's in Rocket League. He combined for six goals, four assists and eight saves against University of South Carolina and Lander University.
