Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for December 2-8, 2024 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Senior Jessica York (women's cross country) and sophomore Owen Keeney (indoor track & field) highlight the week's honors.

York completed 26.2 miles and finished 25th out of 46 NAIA women competitors during the NAIA Marathon Classic after a time of 3:26.11. The senior holds the second best time in the marathon for the Golden Bears now.

Keeney now holds the program record in the high jump for the indoor and outdoor seasons after a first place showing at 1.88m during the Marietta First Glimpse Invite. The sophomore's PR is 1.93m, the record he achieved last outdoor season.
