Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for January 20-26, 2025 were announced Friday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Junior Alexis Sexton (women's basketball) and sophomore Simon Merhout (men's swimming) highlight the week's honors.

Sexton, a native of Lexington, S.C., posted 28 points including six made three's over three games. The junior also had eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals for the Golden Bears.

Merhout, who hails from Újezd u Brna, Czech Republic, helped lead Tech to a win over Malone University with second place showing in the 100 Free (51.06) and second in the 200 Medley Relay (1:38.00).
