Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for February 24 - March 2, 2025 were announced Thursday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Juniors Waleed ‘Fargo' Alghamdi (esports) and Chase Herndon (baseball) highlight the week's honors.

Alghamdi (Fargo) helped lead the Rocket League squad to two wins last week, producing seven goals and four assists after 23 shots on goal. The junior also made a team-best 17 saves in goal.

Herndon drove in seven runs after 16 at bats in four games. The Hedgesville, W.Va. native recorded eight hits including three homeruns and two doubles while crossing the plate seven times. Herndon also had zero errors on the field.
