The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for March 9–15, 2026. This week’s honors go to senior Olivia Barnett (softball) and junior Ty Bock (esports) following standout performances in collegiate competition.

Ty Bock (Wheeling, W.Va.)
Bock delivered a dominant performance in WVU Tech’s 3-0 sweep of UNC Charlotte in NECC Marvel Rivals play. Competing under the gamertag BockShiesty, the junior recorded 107 eliminations across three maps and earned MVP honors in all three contests. He posted game totals of 30, 47 and 30 eliminations while helping extend the Golden Bears’ match win streak to five. His explosive offensive output and consistent defensive presence anchored WVU Tech’s sweep and highlighted one of the program’s strongest individual performances of the spring season.
