Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 13–19, 2025, were announced Sunday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Earning the spotlight this week are freshman Julen Recalde (men’s soccer) and sophomore Lexie Wikel (women’s cross country).

Wikel, a sophomore from Mullens, West Virginia, impressed at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic by clocking a personal-best 21:14.5 in the 5K, slicing more than 50 seconds off her previous best. Her performance capped a strong regular season and earned her this honor for the second time in 2025.
