The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Nov. 17–23, 2025. This week’s honors go to freshman Tiago Costa of WVU Tech men’s soccer and sophomore Troy Harris of WVU Tech wrestling, who delivered championship-winning performances.

Troy Harris (Oak Hill, W.Va.)

Harris continued his remarkable sophomore season with another dominant tournament performance, going 6–0 to win the 141-lb title at the Lucha Open. His run featured three falls, a major decision, and a tech fall, including a victory over a Division I opponent from Liberty and wins over multiple NCAA Division II wrestlers — several from a receiving-votes program.

The unbeaten 141-pounder improved to 11–0 on the year with two tournament championships in November. His effort also earned him recognition as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for November 17–23.
