The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for February 2-8, 2026. This week’s honors go to freshman Alaira Evans (women’s basketball) and senior Maxwell Underwood (wrestling) following standout performances in conference and dual competition.

Maxwell Underwood (Oak Hill, W.Va.)
Underwood provided the highlight of the week for WVU Tech wrestling with a lightning-quick pin at 285 pounds, securing a fall in just 0:01 against Reese Ferm of (RV) Montreat. The six points helped spark the Golden Bears in dual action against a receiving-votes opponent.
