The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for February 23–March 1, 2026. This week’s honors go to freshman Ralph Aaron Etaba Ateba (esports) and junior Ian Goings (men’s basketball) following standout performances in collegiate competition.

Ian Goings (Columbia, S.C.)
Goings led WVU Tech men’s basketball with a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double in a 76-71 road contest at IU Kokomo. The junior guard shot 7-for-17 from the field, knocked down two three-pointers and went 7-for-9 at the free throw line while adding three steals. Goings anchored the Golden Bears offensively and on the glass, keeping Tech within striking distance throughout the tightly contested matchup.
