The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for March 9–15, 2026. This week’s honors go to senior Olivia Barnett (softball) and junior Ty Bock (esports) following standout performances in collegiate competition.

Olivia Barnett (Shady Spring, W.Va.)
Barnett powered the Golden Bears offensively during a four-game conference stretch, batting .500 (6-for-12) while producing six extra-base hits. The senior infielder recorded three doubles and one home run, drove in six runs and posted a 1.000 slugging percentage for the week. Barnett accounted for nearly half of WVU Tech’s total RBIs during the span and added a .500 on-base percentage. Her consistent extra-base production provided a key spark in the Golden Bears’ 4-1 conference victory over Oakland City.
