Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for September 27 - October 3, 2021 were announced Monday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Sophomore Marcos Gicovate (men's soccer) and senior Pau Eslava (men's swimming) highlight that week's honors.

Gicovate, who hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina, recorded a hat trick in the 6-1 win over Shawnee State University September 27. The sophomore also posted an assist that day and has a total of four goals in 2021. 

A native of Barcelona, Spain, Eslava produced three individual first place finishes and helped lead the 200 Medley Relay team to a top spot on the podium. The individual wins were in the 100 Back, 200 Fly and 200 IM in a dual meet against Shawnee State and Pikeville.
