The WVU Tech Athletic Department has announced its final Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for the 2025–26 season. This week’s honors go to sophomore Sean Cooper (golf) and freshman Rebecca H. Lorincz (track & field) following standout performances in the River States Conference Championships.

Sean Cooper (Jumping Branch, W.Va.)
Cooper led the Golden Bears at the River States Conference Championship, earning All-Conference honors with a third-place finish and a three-round score of 225 (+9). The sophomore closed the tournament with an even-par 72, matching one of the top rounds of the day.

Cooper’s performance helped WVU Tech secure a fifth-place team finish and marked the top individual conference finish for the Golden Bears. He remained steady throughout the championship and delivered a strong final round to earn a spot on the podium.
