Standout individual performances in women's soccer and golf earned Julia Silva and Javier Redondo Sanchez recognition as WVU Tech's Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Oct. 19-25.

Julia Silva (Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada) | Women's Soccer

Silva powered the Golden Bears offensively in a 3-0 River States Conference victory over IU Kokomo, contributing to all three WVU Tech goals.

The junior scored two goals and added one assist for five points, while taking a team-high nine shots and placing five on goal. Her performance helped WVU Tech generate 25 shots and 17 shots on goal in the conference victory.

Silva was also named the River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her performance.
