Championship performances in wrestling and a standout defensive week in volleyball earned Noah Krauss and Blanca Marbà de Sivatte recognition as WVU Tech's Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for Oct. 26-31.

Noah Krauss (Auburn, Ala.) | Wrestling

Krauss went undefeated in his collegiate debut, finishing 5-0 to win the 133-pound championship at the Pepsi Patriot Open in Corbin, Kentucky.

The freshman opened the tournament with back-to-back major decisions before earning an 8-5 decision in the quarterfinals. He pinned Kortez Samuels of Andrew College in 1:28 in the semifinals, then captured the title with an 11-1 major decision over William Harvey of Indiana Tech.

Krauss finished the tournament with three major decisions, one decision and one fall and was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week for his performance.

Krauss is a freshman from Auburn, Alabama.
