Sophomore Alexandre Quintão has been named a Golden Bear Star Performer of the Week for December 2-8, 2015.

Quintão led the men's team with a fourth place finish overall in the 200 freestyle while breaking three individual school records. He swam the 50 freestyle in 21.28 (past record, 21.49), the 100 freestyle in 46.31 (past record, 46.53) and the 200 freestyle in 1:42.05 (past record, 1:42.51).

The son of Alexandre Quintão and Claudia Rocha was also a part of the 400 medley relay team that touched after 3:28.15 (past time, 3:28.43) to place sixth overall for a new school record.

The Belo Horizonte, Brazil native studies business management at WVU Tech.
