Sophomore Quentin Cooper has been named a Golden Bear Star Performer of the Week for March 2-9, 2016.
Cooper earned 37 points for Tech to help lead them to the fourth place finish in the NAIA Swimming National Championships last week. The San Leandro, California native touched third in the 50 Free with a time of 20.84 to earn All-American status and a new school record. Cooper also completed the 200 Free in 1:42.82 to finish ninth while touching seventh in the 100 Free with a time of 46.27.
The relay team of Bertrand, Laguna, Gauneau and Cooper touched seventh in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:33.32 to post a program record. Kerr, Ballesteros, Quintão and Cooper represented the Gold and Blue in the 200 Free, setting a new school record and finishing fourth with a time of 1:23.61.
In the 400 Free Relay, swam by Kerr, Cooper, Kohen and Quintão, the team finished fifth overall with a 3:05.70 which earned a new school record.
