Junior Nikki Aleshire has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for September 23-29, 2016.

In the first meet hosted by WVU Tech in 30 years, the women's squad finished fourth out of seven teams in the WVU Tech Golden Bear Classic held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Beckley, West Virginia.

Aleshire finished fourth in a field of 45 runners to lead the Gold and Blue with a time of 22.39.1. The daughter of Rodney and Linda Aleshire is majoring in nursing at Tech.
