Junior Douglas Negrete has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for October 21-27, 2016.

Negrete led the men's cross country squad, who finished 18^th, in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge October 22. The Chino, California native ran the 8k in 26:43.12 for a 61^stplace finish out of 302 competitors.

The son of Andrew and Donna Negrete is majoring in computer science at WVU Tech.
