Junior Ryan Atkins has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for December 8-16, 2016.

Atkins earned a career-high 41 points in the Gold and Blue's win over Ohio Christian University Tuesday including a 12-for-15 effort from the bonus line. The Miami, Florida native also posted eight assists as Tech defeated Appalachian Bible College and combined for 17 rebounds last week.

The son of Robin and Everett Atkins currently leads the team with 20.27 points per game and is shooting 47.7 percent from the floor this season.
