Sophomore Savannah Shamblin has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for December 8-16, 2016.

Shamblin combined for 27 points including a game-high 15 points against Newport News Apprentice School December 15. The Cross Lanes, West Virginia native finished 3-for-5 from three-point range and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line as Tech went 2-0 last week.

The daughter of Sam and Bridgett Shamblin currently leads the team with 12.85 points per game and 47.3 percent shooting from the field.
