Freshman Luke Jobson has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for March 3-10, 2017.
Jobson finished third and earned All-American accolades after competing in the 3,000 meter race walk March 3, crossing with a time of 13:34.47. Jobson competed in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee with nine other racers.
Jobson qualified for the championships while finishing the 3000 meter race walk with a time of 13:39.56 at the Findlay Indoor Track and Field Classic (January 27).
This is the second time Jobson has been named an All-American for the race walk. The Sydney, NSW, Australia native first earned the honors during the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in the 5,000 meter race walk (May 27, 2016) where he finished sixth overall.
