Sophomore Katelyn Byrd has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for October 27 - November 3, 2017.

Byrd led the attack as the Gold and Blue split a pair of River States Conference October 28, finishing with 29 kills. The Parkersburg, West Virginia native tallied 16 kills in the win over Midway University and had 13 versus Asbury University.

After 64 sets this season, Byrd has marked 154 kills and averages 2.41 per set.
