Tech and Glenville were held scoreless until the 48^thminute when Cortez recorded the first Gold and Blue goal of the season.

Fellow classmate Maria Gonzalez was credited with the assist.

As of August 29, the Houston, Texas native is ranked nationally (NAIA) at No. 1 in game winning goals per game and No. 7 in total game winning goals.
