The only goal of the contest in Tech's win over IU East came from Rugel who struck in the first half (17') to sail a ball past keeper Amanda Nicholson. Rugel's score was a season-first for the Mesa, Arizona native and came from the assist of fellow classmate Domenica Moncayo.

The Gold and Blue posted seven shots on goal while holding the Red Wolves' to six shots on frame. Tech was led by freshman Brittany Dye who posted three shots on goal while Rugel had two.
