A native of Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil, Damaso led the men's team with a first place finish in the 1650 Free during the West Virginia State Games. The time of 16:42.56 defeated ten NCAA athletes.

He earned All-American (NAIA) accolades as a freshman and has already continued that success after just one meet this season.
