Freshman Jack Cavanagh has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for December 5 through 11.
 
Cavanagh led the men’s swimming team this past weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational held at Randolph-Macon College.  Cavanagh qualified for NAIA Nationals en route to a second place finish in the 200-yard IM (1:58.20) followed by wins and national qualifications in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.04) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:07.73).  He was also a member of the men’s 400-yard IM relay that swam a national qualifying time finishing the race in 3:54.07.
 
The freshman also is a contributing member to the Golden Bears Cross Country team.
 
Cavanagh is a chemical engineering major from Ontario, Canada.
