WVU Tech Athletics

Senior Amy Gardner has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for February 20 through 26.

Gardner, who was the leading scorer for the Golden Bears last season, led the women’s basketball team during their 61-45 victory over Point Park University (22-6) this past weekend.  Gardner, who has led the squad to a 13-13 season, scored her 1,000th career point on the first shot of the game.  Gardner scored 15 points while bringing down eight rebounds in the contest.
 
Gardner serves as the coordinator of community service for women’s basketball.  So far this year, the squad has teamed up with WVU Tech Athletics to collect food for the Union Mission and raised funds for Play4Kay during their Pink-Out game on February 6 versus the University of Rio Grande. 

Gardner is a criminal justice major from Medina, Ohio.
