Sophomore Taylor Carter has been named the Golden Bear Star Performer for February 27 through March 5.

This past week, Carter led the Golden Bears to their first win of the season over NCAA Division II foe Ohio Valley University in a 14-4 pitching delight. Carter pitched eight innings of solid work striking out a career high 16 batters while surrendering no runs. The 6’3” right-hander took a no-hitter into the eighth before OVU broke up the no-no with a bloop single to shallow center field.

Carter is an athletic coaching education major from Covington, Virginia.
