Creshana Jones and freshman
Ruby Bingham netted a goal a piece, but it wasn't quite enough as the WVU Tech women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision at the Paul Cline Memorial Complex Monday afternoon.
Jones totaled five shots on goal to lead the Golden Bears while Bingham had four shots, two on goal. The senior's goal, off a penalty kick, broke a 0-0 tie at the 9:33 mark in the first half. It took a while for the Bears to answer back, it was in the 22
nd minute where Kaitlyn Abdon of UPIKE found the back of the net, twice, unassisted to take the score to 2-1. Abdon earned her hat trick in the 37
th minute for UPIKE's final score of the match.
The Bears mainatined their 3-1 lead over the next 46 minutes until Bingham broke the Golden Bears' scoring drought with her fourth strike of the afternoon, taking the scoreboard to 3-2. The Golden Bears managed three corner kicks in the final seven minutes of the game, but Pikeville held them on defense and grabbed the victory.

Martha Reyna stopped four shots for Tech in the loss.
As a team, Tech held advantages over the Bears in both shots (14-11) and corner kicks (6-4).
The Golden Bears will look to add another win to their record Wednesday in Charleston, West Virginia when they host Penn State Beaver at Schoenbaum Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. with the men's soccer game scheduled to follow, also facing the Nittany Lions.
