ASHEVILLE, North Carolina - The WVU Tech women's soccer team fell on the road to Montreat College 3-1 Friday afternoon in Asheville, North Carolina at the John B. Lewis Soccer Complex. Freshman
Summer Whipkey posted her first collegiate goal with help from senior
Creshana Jones on the assist.
Montreat used a first half goal to jump in front of Tech, netting a goal in the 28
th minute. The Cavaliers then took a two-goal edge to start the second half before Whipkey posted a goal for the Golden Bears.Â
Whipkey found the back of the net after the perfect pass from Jones, her second assist of the season. The freshman scored Tech's only goal in the 66
th minute.
After holding the Cavaliers scoreless for 16 minutes, Montreat netted its third goal of the game at the 76:42 mark, producing the final score, 3-1.

Tyler Graves marked two shots on goal while Jones, Whipkey and freshmen
Ruby Bingham and
Natanya Shingler had one a piece.
For the game, Montreat held the edges in total shots (16-10) and shots on goal (12-6).
The Golden Bears will return to the pitch tomorrow, Saturday for a match-up against Warren Wilson College. Kickoff in Asheville, North Carolina is set for 1:00 p.m.
