Box ScoreHUNTINGTON, West Virginia - The WVU Tech men's basketball team competed in an exhibition contest Tuesday night, losing to Marshall University, an NCAA Division I institution, 87-65 at the Cam Henderson Center.
The contest was the first between WVU Tech and Marshall since December 21, 2011.
A trio of Golden Bears led the way for Tech in seniors
Jaren Marino,
Jauries Thomas and
Sharife Sergeant. Marino went 3-for-3 from three-point range on his way to 15 points and pulling down seven boards. Thomas also finished with 15 points of his own while grabbing three rebounds. Sergeant rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
As a team, Tech shot 40 percent (26-for-65) from the field while forcing 24 Marshall turnovers on defense.
Tech continues it's season this weekend hosting Barber-Scotia College and Washington Adventist University for the Baisi Classic, November 21-22.
