MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - WVU Tech volleyball celebrated senior
Haley Pauley and a 3-2 victory after a battle with Salem International University Monday evening in the Baisi Athletic Center. The Golden Bears move to 8-26 this season while the Tigers fall to 4-20.
The five-set win went to Tech after scores of 16-25, 25-23, 27-25, 22-25 and 16-14.
Four Golden Bears ended in double digits, including Pauley leading the way with 14 kills, who also produced 15 digs for a double-double in the final home game of her career. The Milton, West Virginia native has tallied 919 kills and 1,204 digs in her four years at WVU Tech. Sophomores
Keyonna Morrow (13) and
Mackenzie Snare (12) and Carroll (10) rounded out the top offensive players for Tech.
Carroll finished with a triple-double of 20 assists and 13 digs to go with her kills. Morrow marked six digs while Snare had two blocks in the match-up. On defense, sophomore libero
Noelle Day led the team with 23 digs and redshirt freshman
Michala Dean ended the evening with eight digs while dishing a team-high 23 assists.
The Golden Bears will finish out their season on the road, facing Bluefield College (Virginia) Nov. 6 and two matches at Kentucky Christian University Nov. 7.
