Tech and Alfred State End in 2-2 Tie

CHARLESTON, West Virginia - The WVU Tech women's soccer team finished its season with a tie Friday afternoon, 2-2, against Alfred State College.

The Golden Bears end their 2014 campaign with a 4-9-4 record for the year and a 1-1-1 record at the 2014 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship Tournament.

Freshman Ruby Bingham put Tech on the board first and in quick fashion, scoring in the fourth minute. The Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) native has posted a total of five goals this season, including the Golden Bears second goal of their final game (58'). Bingham earned honorable mention All-American accolades for her efforts this season, recognized by the USCAA Wednesday evening.

The team finished with 15 shots, 11 on goal in the match-up, holding the edge on Alfred State with 14 shots and 10 on goal.

Junior Sydney Schaeffer ended the game with five saves.
