MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - WVU Tech men's basketball had six of the eight Golden Bears who played score in double digits, including two double-doubles in their 90-70 win over Point Park University Tuesday evening in the Baisi Athletic Center. Tech is now 8-3 this season while the Pioneers hold a 7-3 record.
Redshirt freshman 
Nick Light came off the bench to lead the team with a career- and team-high 20 points. Light was a perfect 9-for-9 from the foul line while knocking down three, three-pointers.
Double-doubles were credited to seniors 
Sharife Sergeant (13 points / 10 rebounds) and 
Jaren Marino (11 points / 10 rebounds). Sergeant blocked a game-high three Pioneer balls and senior 
Jauries Thomas grabbed the game-high in steals with three.
Senior 
Leon Cooper, Jr. was 7-for-9 from the free throw line and produced 18 points for the Golden Bears while also dishing a game-high six assists. Thomas and junior 
Eddie Gordon round out the top contributors for Tech with 10 points each. Thomas pulled down eight boards.
As a team, the Gold and Blue owned advantages in field goal percentage (41.5 -38.0), three-point percentage (39.1-29.6), free throw percentage (90.0-66.7), points off turnovers (17-15), second chance points (19-16) and bench points (30-14). The teams were even in points in the paint (36) and fast break points (4).
Tech will play the University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky) Saturday in the Baisi Athletic Center. Action is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
