Nia Nolan led the team with 24 points and junior
Cheyanne Lusk netted 15, but it wasn't quite enough as the WVU Tech women's basketball team dropped a contest Saturday to University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky), 82-67.
Freshman
Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo was one point shy of a double-double, pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds to go with her nine points. Lusk dished a team-high five assists while recording a block and a steal. Nolan finished with three assists and steals. Ruiz-Berdejo also recorded a block, two steals and an assist.
In a game that featured five lead changes and four tied scores, Tech went 24-for-70 (34.3 percent) from the field, 5-for-21 (23.8 percent) from three-point range and 14-for-19 (73.7 percent) from the foul line.
The Patriots were led by Lydia Cuff who also knocked down 24 points.
The Golden Bears will return home Wednesday when they host Bluefield State College at 6:00 p.m.
