PIKEVILLE, Kentucky - The WVU Tech women's basketball team dropped a road game to the University of Pikeville Wednesday evening, 93-78. The Golden Bears are now 6-13 this season while UPIKE improves to 16-5.
Senior guard
Nia Nolan scored a team-best 22 points for the Golden Bears to go with her four assists, three steals and a rebound. Seniors
Roche Wimberly and
Noelani Woodson came off the bench to hit double-digits for Tech with 14 and 11 points respectively. Wimberly also pulled down eight rebounds while Woodson had two of each, rebounds and steals.
Freshman
Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo posted eight points and five rebounds, junior
Cheyanne Lusk produced four points with her five boards while fellow classmate
Courtney Fisher also recorded five rebounds and six points.
The Gold and Blue shot 28-for-69 (40.6 percent) compared to the Bears who went 31-for-80 (38.8 percent) from the field.
Tech will return to action Saturday, January 24 at the University of the Cumberlands, scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
