The Golden Bears were led by senior
Eddie Gordon who posted a career- and team-high 29 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 performance from the foul ine. Sophomore
Ryan Atkins poured in 23 points in 26 minutes of play and junior
Paul Stone had 14 points.
On the boards, junior
Patrick Gnagbo had a team-high 12 rebounds while Atkins ahd five and Stone had four.
As a team, Tech shot 44.4 percent (28-for-63) from the field, 58.6 percent (17-for-29) from three-point territory and 42.9 percent (9-for-21) from the foul line.
West Virginia State was paced by Markee Mazyck with a game-high 38 points in the victory.
The Golden Bears will look to continue their season tomorrow, Sunday when they host Ohio University (Eastern). Action is scheduled for 4 p.m.
