CINCINNATI, Ohio — WVU Tech women's volleyball split a pair of matches Tuesday in Cincinnati, Ohio to conference foes Alice Lloyd College (3-0) and Cincinatti Christian University (0-3). The Golden Bears finish their 2015 campaign with their first KIAC win and a record of 4-26, 1-13 (KIAC).
In their first match-up, Tech didn't allow their opponent to take a set, defeating the Eagles 25-8, 25-13 and 25-6. The Gold and Blue fell to Cincinnati Christian 25-11, 25-20 and 25-11.
Senior
Jacque Carroll and junior
Mackenzie Snare led the way with 15 and 12 kills respectively in match one. Carroll also posted five digs and three aces while Snare a block and a dig. Junior
Brianna Whaley and freshman
Madeline Gilson were on top in digs with 16 each. Handling the ball for Tech were senior
Jaymee Hannan who marked 23 assists and freshman
Ana Monteiro who had 17. Junior
Michala Dean posted six digs, three kills and three aces.
In match two, Carroll had five kills and 3.5 blocks while Snare marked four kills and two blocks. Gilson had 13 digs while Hannan had seven digs and two asists. Senior
Chelsea Dean posted six digs.
The Golden Bears will now head into the offseason as they look to prepare for their 2016 campaign.
